NEXUS is the platform DataDriven Roads builds and operates. It connects roadside capture, data ingestion, assisted processing, evidence organization, human review, alerts, operations and reporting, and keeps the record of an event together with the review it went through. Technology assists. Authorized people review and decide.

Vehicle identification
Four layers, not one plate read
A plate string on its own is fragile: plates are dirty, obscured, cloned or misread. NEXUS reads the vehicle alongside the plate, so a questionable read has corroboration before a person ever sees it.

Class, body type and dimensions from the image.
The plate
Two independent OCR passes with a confidence score on each.
Its characteristics
Colour, make signals and persistent visual features.
Its modifications
Racks, damage, wraps and anything that distinguishes one unit from another.
Integration
It has to fit what the agency already runs
Most agencies are not starting from zero. There is a court system, a finance system, a records retention schedule and often cameras already on poles. NEXUS is built to arrive into that, not to replace it.
