Bus lane and bus stop

A bus lane blocked by one parked vehicle stops a bus carrying sixty people. Enforcement here buys travel time for transit riders, and travel time is the number the agency is actually judged on.

Two approachesFixed sites on the corridor, or units mounted on the buses themselves.
Exemptions handledPermitted vehicles, loading windows and turning movements, configured per corridor.
Travel timeReported alongside citations, because that is the outcome that matters.

Why it is unusual

The enforcement asset is moving and so is the violation

Bus-mounted capture puts the sensor on the vehicle that suffers the obstruction. It covers the whole route rather than a few blocks, but it also means the evidence has to establish position and lane on a moving platform.

  • Position, heading and lane established for every event.
  • Exempt vehicles and permitted stops filtered before review.
  • Repeat obstruction points reported for engineering action.

Fixed corridor

Cameras on the segments where obstruction concentrates.

Bus mounted

Full route coverage from the vehicle itself.

Bus stops

Blocked stops force boarding in the traffic lane, which is the safety case.

Loading zones

Time-limited permissions handled as configuration.

Legal framework

What is authorized is not the same in every state

Authority, thresholds, signage and retention are set by the statute of each state and, in several states, of each program. What appears here is a description of how we operate, not legal advice.

Before anything else

We confirm what your jurisdiction is authorized to operate today.

Written into the program

Thresholds, signage, warning periods and retention are configured, not assumed.

Your counsel decides
